Now Playing Tracks

Re: More Weekendays

Ugh, I was going to actually write this on the weekend. It seems like its not the weekend anymore =_=

Now I have to go through the arduous task of remember what I actually did. Hm…

Five Minute Interlude~~

Oh, ok. One of my friends here wanted to go shopping, so a bunch of us decided that we would hit up Yoyogi Park->Harajuku->Shibuya, with shopping at the latter of the two.

We went via JR to Yoyogi park first, and stopped at the treasure museum. For 500 yen, we got to see some effects of the late emperor, and a whole bunch of paintings of them. Personally, it wasn’t worth it.

The main highlight of Yoyogi park is the Jingu Shrine. It’s a really nice shrine area, complete with trinkets on sale (but at least even that looked traditional). There was even a wedding going on there, which was really cool. One of my friends had his fortune drawn there, which was pretty fun.

There’s also this thing on the side, before entering the shrine, where you have to “purify” youself. You wash your hands at a certain fountain, which is also really cool looking.

After that, we hit up Harajuku, which is infamous for lolita and goth fashion subculture in Japan. One of my friends wanted to visit the Evangeleon store which was there (If you dont know, just google it). Other than that, we just walked down the store to look at the random pink dresses that they had on sale.

The walk from Harajuku to Shibuya was about half an hour. After that, we went around the different mall areas of Shibuya. Shibuya is essentially as many malls as you can image packed into a small area. I was able to buy a few things there :)

I was also able to find the Moyai statue and Hachiko, as well as other landmarks used in the game World Ends With You

And then we ate food and came home
