WOOO!
So, I have transplanted myself from Taiwan to Japan! Right now, I’ve moved into my dorm in Tokyo, and soon will be taking classes at Sophia University! I’ve been into the city a little bit, but not a lot yet. So yeah. But I’m super excited. The Cherry Blossoms are out, and God Damn, they are as pretty as people talk about.

Re:Blog Format
Since most of the things I have been doing are not especially fun to describe to the general public (in my opinion), i will be redirecting my efforts into putting up cool pictures of locations. Yup. Tally-ho

Re: Long days and extension
Hellohellohellohello! It’s been while since the last time I was here, and with good reason too! I’ve been busyyyyyyyyyy. Very busy. Busy learning about terraces, and epigenetic gorges, and presenting about flexural slip, and the taiwan orogeny, and yes i picked all the fancy sounding things for this :P
But okei. Leaving the central range. Involved a lot of sitting in a bus. We stopped...

Night Market!
We went around, trying out a lot of the different different foods that were in the market. I had stinky tofu, fried cuttlefish, and some really good bubble tea. We wandered around the market, looking at all the different goods they were selling. I ended up buying two scarves, for some reason. I wasn’t planning on it, but they were pretty cheap and looked nice.
The next...

Re: Full days
Hello Hello!
Oh man, I’ve been doing so much recently. Currently, I’m in Taichung city, the third biggest city in Taiwan. Our Geotrip has been bouncing us all over the place, starting in Taipei, to Miaoli, and now we’re here in Taichung.
Anyways, on our first day we went to the Yeliu Geopark a little outside of Taipei. The area has a lot of cool/ridiculous looking geomorphic...

Re: Stalling
So, plans oft go awry. Currently, I’m sitting in a hotel in L.A, being very tired. I missed my connecting flight from LA to Narita, so I will apparently be shipped over to taiwan on the next available flight.
Im super tired right now. I got up at 2:30am to catch the 6:00 flight, and then landed here at about 10:30? And my connecting flight left at 11. Combined with the fact I got lost...
Re: New days
So, It’s been a while! I’m currently back from college, after having one heck of a busy semester. And I’m happy to say, there is a lot more traveling in store to be blogged about! The next 8 months are going to be incredibly busy! I’m traveling to Taiwan for 3 months, then Japan for the next 5! I’ll be doing a travel program checking out the geology of Taiwan for...

Re:Forgotten days
I never really finished up on my blog on this summer =_=
My bad. I got swept away with college. I’ve been pretty busy. Honestly, I should definitely be reading up on fault rocks right now… And I’ll be gone on a field work field trip this saturday, which will be fun-but I won’t get any work done =_=
Anyways, with that out of the way, let’s continue with all of

Wednesday
My lab decided to go out to an Izakaya (japanese bar)
Pics or it didn’t happen?
That there is my professor drinking. We went out at his request, since it was the first day he was allowed to drink after his surgery. So we went out and ate little dishes and drank and stuff. At izakayas, you order little side dishes like sashimi and horse and soup and vegetables and chicken...

Monjayaki is a style of cooking where the ingredients are given raw in a bowl to you. they are then cooked on a hotplate by yourself in front of you. Katsuobushi and such are thrown on as you wish.

On tuesday.
Well, i was practicing for my final presentation, and then my professor and everyone else was like “we’re having a seminar. present your presentation, K?”
lol, i had just finished putting the slides together for that >.> but it turned out ok. They also didn’t really care, cause they’re super chill and awesome like that.
Anyways, after that...
